It has been a little over a year since the VMA’s officially-endorsed Village Trustee candidates were “swept” into office by the hard work and dedication of the Citizens for Accountable Leadership campaign team. The new Trustees hit the ground running and are continuing on a course to bring the Village of Oak Park back into the 21st Century with initiatives such as user-friendly Village Hall, sustainable Oak Park, economic growth and development, and fiscal responsibility. With the current President, Clerk and three Trustee terms coming to finality in April 2013, our work has not stopped.

You are cordially invited to attend the VMA Annual Meeting, which will be held in the Community Room of the Fitness Formula Club in downtown Oak Park (1114 Lake St. Oak Park, IL 60301) on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. We will elect new officers and discuss our plans for the future. Your participation is important to our success!

If you are a current member, we urge you to renew your $20.00 annual membership. A membership application is attached for your convenience. Feel free to mail it in to our P.O. Box, or bring it with you to the Annual Meeting on May 20. You may also pay by using the secure PayPal feature on our website at www.vma-oakpark.org.

If you have not been a member in the past, we urge you to attend the meeting and learn about the organization and its goals for the future.

All three candidates have demonstrated that they are thoroughly committed to public service. Ray’s tenure on the board gives him tremendous insight and historical context on key issues. Adam is the current Chair of the Universal Access Commission and his law practice specializes in municipal and pension issues. Bob is the current Chair of the Community Design Commission. He also served as the Chair of the Downtown Oak Park Sub Area Plan ‘Superblock’ Steering Committee and has significant professional experience in the areas of housing and municipal finance.”

• Running in the Spring 2011 Village election for Village Trustee,

• Joining the Selection Committee, a group of citizens like yourself who will help interview applicants for Village Trustee and choose the best candidates to endorse.
